Ngā mea here me ngā tūnga
Māori Maps is a gateway to the Māori world of marae. It aims to take descendants and visitors to the gateway of marae around Aotearoa/New Zealand; beyond that point, visitors can make their own interactions with the marae community.
Māori Maps assembles information about all the ancestral, tribal marae. It does not include marae that are non-tribal, belong to Urban Māori Authorities, adhere to educational and other institutions, or otherwise do not have a specific link to iwi, hapū or whānau. The Māori Maps project is managed by Te Potiki National Trust Limited.
Te Potiki National Trust explored the information for Māori Maps from public sources and contact with marae, with mapping and photos going only to the marae gateway unless permitted by the community concerned. Te Potiki is a not-for-profit trust that has the marae of Aotearoa/New Zealand as its beneficiaries, and will always respond to the wishes of individual marae.
