Waiwhatawhata marae is located 5 minutes drive south on State Highway 12 from Omapere, on the southern side of the Hokianga Harbour entrance.
The marae belongs to the Ngāti Korokoro and Ngāti Wharara hapu of Ngāpuhi. The wharenui is Te Kaiwaha.
