Waitahanui marae, also known as Pākira, is located in Waitahanui, about 14 km south of Taupō. Its principal hapū are Ngāti Tutemohuta and Ngā hapū o Te Hikuwai o Tuwharetoa.
The wharepuni is called Pākira and the wharekai is Hinearo. The marae connects ancestrally to Te Arawa waka, the maunga Tauhara, the awa Waitahanui and Whangairorohia and the roto Taupō.
