Wairau Pā marae is just north of Blenheim, at Spring Creek in the Marlborough Sounds. The marae belongs to the iwi Ngāti Rārua, as well as Ngāti Toa Rangatira.
The whare tupuna is also called Wairau. The marae ancestrally connects to the waka Tainui, the maunga Tokomaru and the awa Wairau.
