Waipatu marae is located in Waipatu, Hastings. Its principal hapū are Ngāti Hāwea, Ngāti Hinemoa and Ngāti Hori of Ngāti Kahungunu iwi.
The wharenui is called Heretaunga. The marae connects ancestrally to the waka Takitimu, the maunga Kahuranaki and the awa Ngaruroro.
