Waikuta marae is located beneath Ngongotahā mountain in Rotorua. The primary hapū is Ngāti Rangitunaeke of Ngāti Whakaue.
The whare tupuna is called Rangitunaeke. The marae connects ancestrally to Te Arawa waka, the awa Te Ahipūkahu and maunga Ngongotahā and the tupuna Rangitunaeke.
