Umuariki marae is located in Tūpāroa, Ruatōria. Its principal hapū are Ngāti Uepōhatu and Te Whānau a Umuariki of the iwi Ngāti Porou.
The wharenui is also called Umuariki, the wharekai is Te Ara Tipuna o Umuariki. The marae connects ancestrally to the waka Horouta and Nukutaimemeha.
