Tokikapu marae is located 20 km north-west of Te Kuiti, just past Waitomo. The hapū associated with Tokikapu are Ngāti Uekaha, Ruapuha and Te Kanawa and the tribal collective of Ngāti Maniapoto.
The wharenui is named Matua a Iwi and the wharekai is Te Whare Toko i Te Ora Tuarua. The marae connects ancestrally to the Tainui waka, the maunga Owhawhe, and the awa Waitomo.
