Te Kotahitanga marae is situated off the Tuakau Bridge–Port Waikato Road in Te Kōhanga alongside the Waikato River. The principal hapu is Ngāti Tiipa of the Waikato-Tainui confederation.
The wharenui is also named Te Kotahitanga, the wharekai is named Kawiti and the nearby papakāinga is named Kakinga. Te Kotahitanga connects to the maunga Te Puke o Tahinga and to the Waikato River.
