Te Haona Kaha marae is located in the township of Pirongia, west of Te Awamutu. It belongs to the hapū Ngāti Paretaiko of Ngāti Hikairo and Ngāti Mahuta.
The land was originally confiscated land returned to an individual of Ngāti Paretaiko as a Crown grant after the 1865 land confiscations in Waikato. The section was set aside as a Māori Reservation for the purpose of a meeting place for Ngāti Mahuta in 1945. The Te Haona Kaha Marae Trustees administer the reservation (Town of Pirongia East Section 186) on behalf of Ngāti Mahuta.
There are currently no buildings on the Marae Reservation.
