Te Arohanui marae is located in Mangataipa, near Mangamuka, off State Highway 1 and off the upper reaches of the Mangamuka River. It represents the hapū Kohatutaka, and has connections with Te Ihutai, Tahāwai, Te Uri o Te Aho, and Te Rahowhakairi of the Far North iwi of Te Rarawa. It also affiliate to Ngāpuhi.
Te Arohanui is also the name of the wharenui.
