Tawhitinui marae is located in Ōmokoroa, to the west of Tauranga. The primary hapū for this marae is Pirirākau of Ngāti Ranginui.
The whare tipuna is named Kahi. Tawhitinui connects ancestrally to the waka Takitimu, the maunga Mauao and the moana Te Awanui.
