Taharora marae is located in Waipiro Bay, Te Puia Springs. Its principal hapū is Ngai Taharora of Ngāti Porou iwi.
The wharenui is also called Taharora, and the wharekai is Mihikoingo. The marae connects ancestrally to the waka Horouta and the maunga Tokatea.
