Ruataniwha marae is located west of the A&P Showgrounds outside Wairoa. Its principal hapū is Ngāti Kapuamātotoru.
The wharenui is called Te Poho o Riria. The marae connects ancestrally to the waka Takitimu and the awa Wairoa.
