Ruahāpia marae is located on Ruahāpia Road in Waipatu, just north of Hastings. Its principal hapū are Ngāti Hāwea and Ngāti Hori of Ngāti Kahungunu iwi.
The wharenui is called Karaitiana Takamoana. The marae connects ancestrally to the waka Takitimu, the maunga Kahurānaki, and the awa Karamu and Ngaruroro.
