Rongomaipāpā marae is located at Horohoro, just outside Rotorua. The primary hapū are Ngāti Kea and Ngāti Tuarā.
The whare tupuna is called Māruahangaroa. The marae connects ancestrally to Te Arawa waka, the awa Pōkaitū and the maunga Te Horohoroinga-o-ngā-ringaringa o Kahumatamomoe, or Horohoro as it is known colloquially. Rongomaipāpā marae affiliates to both Tūhourangi and Ngāti Kahungunu.
