Roma marae is located close to Te Oneroa a Tohe (Ninety Mile Beach), Ahipara, in the Far North. It is is widely regarded as one of the oldest marae of Te Rarawa, and is at the spiritual heart of the iwi. It's primary hapū are Ngāti Waiora, Ngāti Pākahi, Te Patukirikiri and Parewhero.
The wharenui is called Te Ohaki and the wharekai is named Maru a Roto (‘storehouse of plenty’). Also located on Roma marae is He Puna, a very large pounamu dedicated to the late spiritual leader Ephraim Te Paa. Roma marae connects to the maunga Whangatauatia and to the moana, Karirikura.
