Roimata marae is located on the shores of Ohiwa Harbour, and is the westernmost marae in the rohe of Whakatōhea. The primary hapū is Te Ūpokorehe.
The whare tipuna is called Te Ao Marama and the whare kai is Te Umutao Noa a Tairongo. Roimata marae connects ancestrally to Mataatua waka, the maunga Hiwarau, the awa Te Karaka and the moana Tairongo.
