Pukerata (Ōtaua) marae is located in the settlement of Ōtaua in the southern Hokianga. It belongs to Ngaituteauru, Ngati Tipa, Ngati Waihangehange, Ngati Te Ra and Ngati Ue hapū of the Ngāpuhi confederation.
The name of the wharenui is Te Rau Tawainui and the whare waka is Te Whakaruruhau.
