Pehiaweri marae is on the north-eastern outskirts of Whangarei. The local hapu, Ngati Hau, Te Parawhau and Ngati Hao of Ngāpuhii.
The wharenui is Te Reo o te Iwi and the wharekai is Te Re o te Ora. Pehiaweri marae is associated with the maunga named Parihaka, the Hatea River and the waka Ngatokimatawhaorua.
