The wharenui is Pōwhiri and the wharekai is Ngā Reo o Ngā Whaea. Pateoro marae affiliates to Te Ihutai hapū within the iwi of Te Rarawa and connects ancestrally to Maungapohatu, and the awa Te Karae.
