Parawera marae (Te Taumata ki Parawera) is located 15 kilometres to the south-east of Te Awamutu. The principal hapū for this marae are Ngāti Ruru, Waenganui and Werokoko of Ngāti Raukawa.
The whare is named Tane-i-rangi-kapua. The marae connects to the Tainui waka, the awa Waikato and the maunga Maungatautari.
