Mokonuiārangi marae is located in Maraeroa, on the western end of Horeke Road in the Hokianga. The primary hapu are Ngāi Tawake ki te Moana, Te Ngahengahe and Ngāti Toro, linking Mokonuiarangi marae to the wider confederation of Ngāpuhi.
The wharenui is also called Mokonuiārangi.
