Matapōuri marae is located in the Ngāti Wai region of Matapouri Bay on the east coast of Northland, north of Tutukaka and Whangarei.
The wharenui is named Te Tokomanawa o Te Aroha. The marae is also known for housing the Matapōuri Marae Learning Centre.
