Matahiwi marae is located on Lawn Road in Clive. Its principal hapū are Ngāti Hāwea, Ngāti Hori and Ngāti Kautere of Ngāti Kahungunu iwi.

The wharenui is called Te Matau-a-Māui and the wharekai is Hina Taranga. The marae connects ancestrally to the waka Takitimu, the maunga Kahurānaki and the awa Tukituki.
