Ko Te Ahua marae is located south of State Highway 10 between Taipa and Lake Ohia on Parapara-Toatoa Road.
The principal hapū of Te Ahua Marae are Pikaahu / Te Paatu and Ngāti Whata of Ngāti Kahu, who trace descent from the waka named Mamaru. The marae is linked to the maunga named Tuanaki and to Te Maere River.
