Ko Te Ahua marae is located south of State Highway 10 between Taipa and Lake Ohia on Parapara-Toatoa Road.
The principal hapū of Te Ahua Marae are Te Paatu and Ngāti Whata of Ngāti Kahu, who trace descent from the waka named Mamaru. The marae is linked to the maunga named Tuanaki and to Te Maire River.
