Iritekura marae is located in Waipiro Bay. Its principal hapū is Te Whānau a Iritekura of Ngāti Porou.
The wharenui is also called Iritekura. The marae connects ancestrally to the waka Horouta, the maunga Tawhiti-nui-a-Paoa, the awa Waikawa and the moana Tokomaru.
