Hukanui marae is located in Gordonton, approximately 15 km northeast of Hamilton. Its principal iwi is Ngāti Wairere of Waikato-Tainui.
The wharenui is named Te Tuturu-a-Papa Kamutu. Hukanui connects ancestrally to the Tainui waka and the maunga Taupiri.
