Hongoeka marae is located 9 km north of central Porirua, just outside Plimmerton. It belongs to the iwi Ngāti Toa Rangatira.
The whare tupuna is named Te Heke Mai Raro. The marae connects ancestrally to the waka Tainui, the maunga Whitireia, the awa Kenana and the moana Raukawakawa.
