Hoe O Tainui (Matawhara)marae site is located on the corner of Tahuna-Ohinewai Road and Mangawhara road, about 35 km east of Huntly. The primary hapu affiliated with this marae is Ngāti Makirangi. No wharenui complex currently exists.
