Ōhinewaiapu marae is located at the mouth of the Waiapu River in Tikitiki. Its principal hapū is Te Whānau a Takimoana of Ngāti Porou iwi.
The wharenui shares the name Ōhinewaiapu, the wharekai is Te Ohaki. The marae connects ancestrally to the waka Horouta, the maunga Kamiti and the awa Waikaka.
