Tapuaekura-a-Hatupatu marae is on the southern shores of Lake Rotoiti east of Lake Rotorua. It belongs to the iwi Ngāti Rongomai and Ngāti Pikiao.

The whare tupuna is named Rākeiao. Tapuaekura-a-Hatupatu marae connects ancestrally to Te Arawa waka and the maunga Matawhaura
