Takutai o te Titi marae is on the southernmost coast of Te Waipounamu at Colac Bay, just out of Riverton.
The wharenui is named Te Whanau Moana, the wharekai is Te Poha Tītī. The marae connects ancestrally to the waka Uruao and Takitimu, the maunga Takitimu and the awa Aparima.
Takutai o te Titi (‘Coastline of the muttonbird’) refers to the annual event of tītī returning to the nearby beaches.
