Takou II marae is newly sited on a southern cliff top in the Bay of Islands overlooking the original Takou marae at Takou Bay.
Like its older namesake, the principal hapū of Takou II marae is Ngāti Rehia, and it is connected to the maunga named Oranga (also known as Pa o Puhi) and to the Takou River.
