Tahuwhakatiki (Romai) marae is located at Waitao,Tauranga. It is situated at the mouth of the Waitao River. Ngā Pōtiki enjoys whakapapa connections to Ngāi Te Rangi, Ngati Pukenga and Waitaha.
The marae consists of the whare tupuna Romainohorangi and the wharekai Tuwairua. Tahuwhakatiki links to surrounding maunga including Kopukairoa, Mangatawa, Hikurangi and Otawa, te awa o Waitao, and the moana Te Tahuna o Rangatua. The marae was established in 1911 by Eruera Tamapahore Te Tahou.
