Māhanga marae, also known as Rongomaiwahine, is located in Māhia. Its principal hapū are Ngāi Tū of the iwi Rongomaiwahine. Māhanga also has connections to the iwi Ngāti Kahungunu.
The wharenui is called Te Poho o Rongomaiwahine. The marae connects ancestrally to the waka Takitimu, the maunga Rākauwhakatangitangi, the awa Kōpuawhara and the roto Rotopounamu.
