Kūhā Pā (also known as Te Kūhā Tārewa) is located in Tuai, 50 km north of Wairoa on the edge of Te Urewera. The primary hapū is Ngāti Hinekura of Ngāi Tūhoe.
The whare tipuna is named Te Poho o Hinekura. Kūhā Pa connects ancestrally to the Mātaatua waka, the maunga Panekire, the awa Waikaretāheke and the moana Waikaremoana.
