Arowhenua marae is located in Temuka, South Canterbury. It is situated near a historic Ngāi Tahu settlement in South Canterbury, Te Waiateruati, and the Arowhenua bush.
The whare tūpuna is named Te Hapa o Niu Tireni. Arowhenua connects ancestrally to the waka Takitimu and Araiteuru, the maunga Tarahaoa and the awa Waitaki and Opihi.
