Poroti marae is located on Mangakahia Road near Poroti (west of Whangarei).
The marae is associated with Te Mahurehure, Te Parawhau and Te Uriroroi hapū of Ngapuhi. The wharenui is Maungarongo, and the marae is also known by this name.
