Wainui marae is located in Ahipara in the Far North. It belongs to the hapu Ngāti Moetonga and Te Rokeka of the iwi Te Rarawa. The marae also has ties to Te Aupōuri and Ngāi Takoto.
The wharenui is called Ngāti Moetonga and the urupa is named Ngatotoiti.
