Waimanoni marae is located between Awanui and Waipapakauri on State Highway 1, near Rangaunu Harbour. It is one of the major marae of Ngāi Takoto iwi, which descends from the ancestor Tuwhakatere and the waka Kurahaupō.
Its wharenui is Wikitoria. Waimanoni marae links to the nearby maunga Rangianiwaniwa and to the moana Rangaunu.
