Tāheke marae is also known as Opatia, and is located at Ōkere Falls just east of Lake Rotorua. The primary hapū is Ngāti Hinerangi of Ngāti Pikiao.
The whare tipuna is named Rangitihi and Tāheke marae connects ancestrally to the Arawa waka, the maunga Matawhaura and the awa Okere.
