Rauru marae is located immediately west of Ruatōria township on Bridge Road. Its principal hapū are Rauru a Toi, Te Whānau a Hinekehu of Ngāti Porou iwi.
The wharenui is called Rauru Nui a Toi, and the wharekai is Tini a Toi. The marae connects ancestrally to Horouta waka, the maunga Ngamoe and the awa Waiapu.
