Ōtenuku marae is located 1 km south of Rūātoki. The primary hapū is Ngāti Kōura of Ngāi Tūhoe.
The whare tipuna is named Tahatu o Te Ao. Ōtenuku marae connects ancestrally to the Mataatua waka, the maunga Taiarahia and the awa Ōhinemataroa.
