Ohako Marae is located in Manutuke, 13 km east of Gisborne. It belongs to the hapū Ngāi Tawhiri and Ngāti Ruapani of Rongowhakaata.
The whare tupuna is named Te Kiko o te Rangi and the wharekai is Te Ohako. The complex includes an urupa, Turakina. The marae connects ancestrally to the waka Horouta and Takitimu and the maunga Whakapūnake and Papaturangi.
