Ngā Tai Whakarongorua (Tinopai) marae is located at the northern Kaipara settlement of Tinopai. It belongs to the iwi of Te Uri o Hau within the wider confederation of Ngāti Whatua.
Its descendants link directly back to the waka Mahuhukiterangi. The wharenui is known by the same name; Ngā Tai Whakarongorua.
