Ngā Tai e Rua marae is located near the centre of Tuakau township.Its two principal hapū are Ngāti Tiipa and Ngāti Āmaru of the Waikato-Tainui confederation.
The wharenui is also named Ngā Tai e Rua, and thewharekai is Reitu. Ngā Tai e Rua marae is ancestrally linked to the maunga Taupiri and to the Waikato River.
