Matiti Pā is located near Te Waotu, 11 km south of Arapuni on the east side of the lake. The primary hapu is Ngāti Maihi of Ngāti Raukawa.
The whare is named Waotu Centennial Hall and connects to the Tainui waka, the awa Waikato and Maungatautari. It used to have strong connections to the Mamaku and Te Arawa.
