Horahora marae is located in Rangiriri West, north of Huntly. The principal hapū that affiliate with this marae include Ngāti Hine, Ngāti Mahuta, Ngāti Naho, and Ngāti Pou.
The wharemoe (sleeping house) is named Te Whare i Whakaarohia, and the wharekai is Te Whare Pereue. Horahora marae links ancestrally to the waka collective of Tainui, the maunga Taupiri and the awa Waikato.
