Tuamātene marae is located in Grovetown, just north of Blenheim, on the former pa kainga of Rangitane. The marae belongs to the iwi Rangitāne (Te Tau Ihu).
The whare tupuna is called Te Huataki. The marae connects ancestrally to the waka Kurahaupō, the maunga Tapuae o Uenuku, the moana Raukawakawa and the awa Wairau.
